They say that the best way to become a writer is to write every day. That it doesn’t matter the content, context, perspective, or even how well it’s written. Just as long as it’s words being written, daily. I’ve been striving to be a writer since I started reading and yet, I sit with so many unfinished or unpublished pieces.
Does writing a book make me a writer? Does publishing a piece of work make me a writer? I don’t know. I know that I’ve written an entire book and did nothing with it because I didn’t quite like it enough. I know that I have a handful of short stories that I’ve self-published. I know I have been writing my entire life and yet, I still don’t feel like a writer. I write often and I write well, but how do I become a writer? I don’t know. I know I’ve wanted to write a book for some time now. I know having the ability to paint an entire picture within someone’s mind with only words, sounds absolutely magical. I want to be magical! I'm not good with slide of hand, I can’t pull a rabbit from a hat, and I only know one card trick... I’m definitely no magician. Maybe writing daily is what will make me a writer, maybe it will make me magical. I won’t know until I do it. So, welcome to this blog, my blog. I’ll be writing every day until I become a writer. Tuesday’s Daily Dish- Pieces of work, rants, raves and maybe even literal dishes. I’m gonna write until I'm a writer.
